Head of Household: Each week, houseguests will compete for the title of Head of Household at an HOH competition. 1 person wins HOH and nominates 2 other houseguests for eviction. If the holder f the Power of Veto uses it on the nominees, they have to select a replacement nominee. At evictions, in the event of a, the HOH casts the tiebreaker vote to evict. Golden Power Of Veto: The Golden Power of Veto, or POV, is a competition that is held each week after the nomination ceremony is held. This competition gives one houseguest the chance to change the nominees. The HOH will replace any nominee taken off the block.
Double Eviction: On a certain week, a full cycle of Big Brother will be played out over the course of one night, resulting in two people being evicted from the Big Brother house on the same night.
Team Rivalry: At the start of the game the two returning rival players will select six new houseguests each to form a Rival Team. Every week for the first three weeks, the Rival Teams will compete in a Rival Team Challenge, which will determine variables such as Have/Have-Not status, prize earnings, and potentially game-changing advantages. However, the houseguests will compete individually for Head of Household and the Power of Veto, and no additional immunity will be awarded to members of the winner's Rival Team unless specified. The Rival Teams will cease to exist after the fourth eviction of the summer.

Lights flood over a fully-packed, live studio audience, accompanied by a familiar Rivals and Redemption theme playing loudly over the cheering support of the eager crowd. Amidst the opening reception, hostess Aundre Berubius returns to the stage to welcome both the live studio audience and the viewers at home to another season of Big Brother: Rivals and Redemption.
With both the inaugural ceremonies underway and the Big Brother: Rivals and Redemption format re-explained by Berubius, the hostess then welcomes to the stage ten new houseguests, each ready and eager to enter the Big Brother house for the summer. Berubius then wished the ten new hopefuls luck, telling them to expect the unexpected, and then proceeded to divide the ten in three smaller groups for entry into the Big Brother: Rivals and Redemption 3 house.
Soon after, the first group of houseguests, revealed to consist of Amanda, Shep, and Simon, entered the house, with superfan Amanda already overjoyed to be a part of the Big Brother experience, stating later in the Diary Room how "it's like a dream, in real life! I can't believe I'm actually here in the Big Brother house! I can't wait to finally play this amazing game". Meanwhile, Simon wastes no time in making a big impression on both of Amanda and Shep with his overtly flamboyant personality, eliciting a lot of fondness from Amanda on their first impressions; however, even more elated chatter arises from the group as the second batch of houseguests enter the house, allowing the quartet of Nickole, Jeffry, Buster, and Shanniah to join the previous trio. Shep later cites his immediate gravitation towards Nickole, saying that "that one gal...Nickole...man. She's gotta be the most darn attractive gal I've ever seen in my life. I mean, she must be some kind o' angel, man". Finally, a few minutes later, the third group of houseguests, made up of Kelcet, John, and Zig, join the rest in the house, and as each houseguest introduced themselves, many found that the vast majority of this group seemed to be made up of celebrities, of a wide variety of profiles. Zig later noted in his own Diary Room session how he felt that this was a new type of cast, stating how "it just figures how they got a bunch o' weird people in here. They've got an ol' guy, a couple of people I think I saw on Survivor befo', and they even got some famous folks. It's almost like they want me to make sure that I know that I'm not famous! Tell a few jokes, you ain't nothin', but hell, you can be famous for anything else, apparently. Please tell me I don't gotta be locked up with this group o' nutjobs, please!", laughing with a big smile almost the whole segment through.
The view then shifts to a pair of darkened booths on the nearby stage, each containing a concealed Returning Rival houseguest, in accordance to the Big Brother: Rivals and Redemption format. As Aundre Berubius motions to the first of the two booths, the lights suddenly turn on brightly, revealing the first of the new rivals to be Aubrey Briggs of Big Brother 7 (JTS618), to which the model receives a warm welcome from the audience with audible applause. The challenge and strategically-ept marketing executive smiles and waves at the fond reception, as attention slowly turns to the second booth to reveal the identity of the second half of this season's rival pair. After a bit of more of dramatic buildup, the booth is lit up as bright as the first, revealing none other than Diana Bode of the same season. receiving another loud reception from the nearby audience members. Hostess Aundre Berubius prefaces the revelation of this duo, describing Aubrey and Diana's past relationship as "an all-out weeks-long battle on the Big Brother stage, a true showdown between the strategic and mental aspects of the game". The two women both seem none-too-surprised to see one another, with Aubrey commenting to Berubius on how she was "glad to see Miss Big Game Hunter back for another round", engaging in some joking banter. Diana responded in a similar manner, saying that "this girl may think she's unbeatable, but she ain't. I'm happy to send you out that door again, girl", in a sassy manner, resulting in a lot of loud reactions from the onlooking crowd. A brief montage of Aubrey and Diana's past interactions and disagreements throughout their shared season is shown, soon followed by the announcement from Berubius that the Rival Team Draft will begin shortly.
Customary once again to the established format over the past two seasons, hostess Aundre Berubius asked a trivia question to the two women, pertaining to their shared past season. Berubius then asked both Aubrey and Diana who the three people evicted on Day 36 of Big Brother All-Stars (JTS618) were, and in what order. The audience "ooo"-ed at the difficult question in response, and the crowd, as well as Berubius herself, await for one of the two rivaling women to reply. It was Aubrey who rung in first, narrowly beating out Diana, due to a quick reaction time on Aubrey's part. Aubrey then answered in with "Michael, Mercedes, and Santana", which Aundre Berubius then revealed to be correct, prompting much celebration from both the audience and Aubrey herself, as Diana watched on, applauding a bit. Aundre then told Aubrey that she would be given the first pick of the Season 3 draft, and that the draft itself would begin in just a few moments. The pair then returned to their booths, greeted with each of the ten houseguests' cast photos. Hostess Aundre Berubius then gave Aubrey the initiative to select her first team member, and the draft was begun.
As Aubrey looks out over the six male options for her first pick, the model cites to herself how both Shep and John seem like athletic men who could be extremely useful for the competitions ahead. Ultimately, however, Aubrey chooses Shep to join her team with her first pick, stating how Shep "looks like a guy you could trust with your life and not lie to you". Diana is then afforded the opportunity to select two members to join her team, due to the snake-style format of the houseguest draft, and the social media marketer opts to take the reasonably athletic-looking John as her first pick of the draft. With her second selection, Diana decides on adding the big-smiling picture of Kelcet to her lineup as the first female selection of the draft, stating how "she looks like she can handle herself". Aubrey then proceeds to pick her first female team member, and chooses Nickole to join her team, viewing her as stronger than some of the other women appeared to be, wishing to both create a strong team of competitors, as well as to surround herself in big targets, knowing her own reputation. Aubrey was then given the instruction to select another member, this time a man. Aubrey then chooses Zig to join her team, claiming she had a “good feeling” about that smile. With three members now chosen to be a part of Team Aubrey, Diana was then given the opportunity to pick her own third team member. After a decent amount of time passing as Diana contemplated her options, the social media marketer ultimately chooses Simon to join her team, despite his shorter stature, in light of his seemingly strong muscularity. Now faced with the final female houseguest choice of the draft, Diana once again takes time to contemplate between the two remaining options, Amanda and Shanniah. In the end, however, Diana chooses to add Amanda to her team, leaving Shanniah as an automatic member of Team Aubrey. With one final draft pick remaining, Aubrey was now tasked with determining who would be both the final member of her own team, as well as the final member of Diana's. after some deliberation, Aubrey ultimately decided to add Jeffry to her team, leaving Buster as the final member of Team Diana, which secretly gladdened Diana herself, as she secretly felt that Jeffry might be someone who would draw a lot of attention. With the rival teams having been decided and the draft concluded, hostess Aundre Berubius extended wishes of good luck to the two women, giving them permission to enter the Big Brother: Rivals and Redemption 3 house, along with their awaiting teammates. Both Aubrey and Diana thanked Berubius and excitedly made their way to the house's front door. Upon the entrance of both Aubrey and Diana, all ten new houseguests greet the pair to an overwhelmingly positive reception. After a brief meet and greet, Berubius instructs the houseguests to make their way out into the house’s backyard to compete in the first Head of Household competition of Big Brother: Rivals and Redemption 3, wishing all of the houseguests luck.
With the season's opening festivities having been freshly concluded and the twelve houseguests having made their way into the backyard of the Big Brother: Rivals and Redemption 3 house, hostess Aundre Berubius explains the rules and regulations of the first Head of Household competition of the summer. She goes on to explain that this competition, titled "Rivals and Suspension", featured the twelve competitors being each tasked with holding on to a suspended rope above the ground for as long as possible. These ropes would be continuously rotated around a fixed midpoint in a circle for the duration of the competition, allowing for the houseguests competing to be bumped into various obstacles placed around the rope's path. The last houseguest standing would win the competition and be crowned the first Head of Household of the summer. With the houseguests having been informed of the competition's rules, Berubius instructed the houseguests to each take a spot at a rope, and soon after all twelve houseguests were fitted into place, Aundre wishes the competitors good luck, and the ropes began to rotate slowly as the competition begun.
For the first half-hour, the houseguests all seemed at least somewhat comfortable, with several exchanging friendly banter, most notably Simon, Nickole, and Zig. Soon enough, however, a few houseguests began to struggle, with Zig having an incredibly difficult time due to his build. Zig was soon the first hosueguest to fall off after 41 minutes. Upon Zig's fall, the comedian laughed at himself, causing Amanda to laugh at Zig's joke, distracting her enough to fall off herself, leaving ten houseguests remaining. Within the remainder of the hour, the pair of Zig and Amanda were soon joined by Buster, Jeffry, and Shanniah, leaving both returning rival hosueguests, along with five additional new ones, still alive in the competition.
Deals began to be exchanged throughout the remaining group as various houseguests began lobbying for safety, most notably Aubrey, Diana, Nickole, and Shep. Before any deals could be finalized, however, Kelcet slipped off of her rope, in the midst of the remainder of the competing houseguests seemed to have reached an agreement. John, Aubrey, and Simon all fell off of their ropes within the next two hours, leaving the trio of Diana, Shep, and Nickole vying for the power for the week.
With two members of the team opposite her own, Diana felt pressure to prove to her team that she was a viable mentor, citing later in the Diary Room how she felt that "this is an opportunity for me to prove why I got invited back here. I'm not just here because I tried to get Aubrey out. I'm a player too, and even though it's always a risk to try and get power early, I feel like I have something to prove". This feeling was evidenced by Diana's statue-like grip on her rope throughout the competition thus far, whilst Nickole had begun to struggle, eventually dropping out after about three hours. This left Shep and Diana competing in the competition, and as Shep later noted in the Diary Room, "Diana's one tough lady. I don't think I done seen her move since we started this thing. Still though, I feel like I need to take one for the team here and win it for us and keep us safe this week". Despite both competitors' strong performance throughout the competition, after three hours and fifty-two minutes of grueling endurance, Diana slipped off of her rope, leaving Shep as the first HOH of the summer. Shep smiled, being immediately congratulated by everyone along with Diana receiving praise as well for their respective performances as the twelve houseguests made their way back into the Big Brother house.
With the season's first Head of Household having been freshly crowned in Shep, the houseguests began to settle in to their new surroundings and interact with one another. Soon after the competition's conclusion, Aubrey and Nickole congratulated Shep on winning for their newly formed team, to which Shep appreciated, especially in feeling some reciprocation from the latter in her flauntiness. On the flipside, some of Team Diana's members, including Diana herself, felt the need to secure safety, if possible. Diana decided to make the effort to approach her rival Aubrey in an attempt to bury the hatchet and make a connection, to which Aubrey secretly seemed skeptical to. Aubrey stated later in the Diary Room how "it's amazing how fast things can change in the Big Brother house, isn't it? Last time Diana and I were playing this game together, she didn't seem to have any issue in putting me on the block and trying to send me home. Now she seems more than willing to try and work with me, and I'm like, 'this is interesting!' It's not that I don't appreciate the gesture and all, but I'm not dumb, girl. Come on now". Aubrey reiterated to Diana her initial feelings from their prior season in that she had no bad blood and that it was all just game, to which Diana agreed, saying later in her own Diary Room session how "Aubrey and I...we have history, you know? I'm glad she understands that we're the two biggest targets being the only returning players in this game". Diana brought up to Aubrey how she felt that they should keep an eye out for each other, and Aubrey seemed to agree, although was still secretly amused at how quickly Diana's tune had changed. Meanwhile, throughout the next few days, an overloaded Amanda did her best to talk to everyone in an attempt to strategize, offputting several people in the house, most notably Simon, Nickole, and even the current HOH, Shep. Amanda continued to try and talk game with almost everyone in the house, citing later in the Diary Room how she felt that "it's extremely important that everyone thinks that I'm on their side. I came here to play!". Amanda's gabbiness and perceived over-strategizing earned the ire of the forming showmance of Shep and Nickole, bringing about the idea from Nickole that Amanda should be their target for the week, to which Shep seemed to agree, later conferring in a meeting with Nickole and Aubrey to cement the idea. Nickole's gossip about Amanda and others in the house helped bond her with Simon of Team Diana, with the latter citing how it was "nice to find another queen b*tch that he could talk with", which Nickole very much enjoyed.
Alongside dynamics forming amidst Team Aubrey, much of Diana's team seemed to be a unified front as well, with Diana seeming to connect a great deal with her team as a leader. Diana especially seemed close to John, whom she viewed as the most reliable and stable member of her team, and approached him with the idea of working together. John later elaborated in the Diary Room how he saw the current house dynamics, as well as his own position, saying "it's amazing how it's only been three days and it already feels like there's sides in the house. There's this Team Aubrey core group on one side, and there's Diana's group on the other, but it does still feel like there's a lot of people in the middle. For now though, at least, Diana does seem like a good person to work with; she's strong, dedicated, focused, and she's a target ahead of someone like me". John seemed to reciprocate the feeling of trust to Diana, and the two created an alliance.
In addition to much of the house forming various relationships with one another, Jeffry seemed to notice Shanniah having been largely ommitted from much strategic talk, outside of the occasional Team Aubrey meeting, due to her consistent talk of morals in the game. Shanniah had previously stated in the Diary Room that "just because we are all playing a game does not in any way mean people have to be dishonorable. I was on Survivor, and I played an honorable game amongst dishonorable, even vile people, and it got me very far. There are a lot of people here who may feel differently than myself in this regard, but I know my son would be proud of the choices I've made and that I am making in the Big Brother house". Jeffry's outspoken dry humor seemed to initially offput Shanniah, but as time continued to pass, Jeffry began to approach Shanniah, recognizing her as a fellow Survivor alum. Jeffry asked Shanniah about her thoughts on where she stood in the game, to which Shanniah replied that she felt a lot of pressure to act a certain way. Jeffry consoled Shanniah, saying later in the Diary Room that "I totally get what Shanniah is saying. you go out on the island, and you think that you're the good guy, and you want to stay the good guy. Now, that's not to say that I think I played a game bound by this tight pseudo-samurai code that Shanniah played with, but I still get it. Even though we're completely opposite people, we have this Survivor thing in common, and it's something that can maybe bring us together". Jeffry opened up to Shanniah more, explaining how he would love to see an all-castaway Final 2, and proposed an alliance, to which Shanniah seemed relieved in having found a friend to confide in. Shanniah agreed, saying in the Diary Room that "I honestly never would have expected to find anything in common with someone like Jeffry. We're so different. He's loud; I'm softspoken. He's a jokester; I've been told I'm serious- and yet, I'm so very glad to have found someone who understands what I've gone through". With a bounty of tight pairings and forming alliances taking shape throughout the house, the first Rival Team Challenge of the season was soon announced to be held.
With the announcement of the scheduled competition given to the houseguests, hostess Aundre Berubius welcomes all of the houseguests back to the back yard for their first Rival Team Challenge of the season, and proceeds to explain that the competition, dubbed "Bridging the Nap", required the two competing teams of houseguests to use various foam objects, namely mattresses, cushions, and pillows, as building materials to construct a bridge across the house's back yard, able to support all of the members of the team without any member touching the ground. If at any point a houseguest should touch the ground during the competition, the entire team would be required to start again. The first team to successfully transfer their entire team from the starting zone to the finish line would win the competition and the offerred prize, which was announced to be Have/Have-Not priveleges for the week, along a special, "secret twist" that would be revealed after the challenge had been completed, stirring up some murmurs between the houseguests. Upon the rules being explained and the houseguests having taken their positions, the competition was soon begun.
Initially, Team Diana seemed to be a bit more cohesive in creating a sturdy bridge, whilst Team Aubrey seemed more energetic, although slightly more chaotic. Diana did her best to direct her team, whilst Shep and Nickole both seemed to take the lead, with the latter being the most outspoken voice guiding the group, alongside team captain Aubrey. Team Aubrey and Team Diana seemed fairly evenly matched heading into the second phase of the competition, transporting its members across. Although both teams had stronger performers in this regard, namely Kelcet for Team Diana and Nickole and Shep for Team Aubrey, both teams also had members that struggled. Shanniah and Zig took a long amount of time for Team Aubrey, while Buster and especially Amanda seemed to falter for Team Diana. Amanda's faltering eventually culminated in team having to restart, giving Team Aubrey an opening which Team Diana couldn't seem to recover from, and soon enough, Team Aubrey had managed to get all of their members across of their constructed bridge and over the finish line first, winning them the competition, sending them into celebration, and leaving Team Diana as Have-Nots for the week. Additionally, hostess Aundre Berubius, upon congratulating Team Aubrey on their win, informed the houseguests of the special twist she had eluded to prior to the start of the competition, revealing it to be an unprecedented power - after the next Head of Household competition and prior to the next Rival Team Challenge, Team Aubrey would be able to steal over a member of Team Diana to join their own Rival Team, aside from the opposing team captain, Diana herself. This news shocked most of the house, with murmuring continuing a bit as the hosueguests reconvened in the house after the competition had concluded.
Following Team Aubrey's win, Diana did her best to apologize to her teammates, feeling responsible as the captain of the team for the loss, to which her team all disagreed and reassured her that she was a good leader. Amanda also felt particuarly responsible, apologizing at length to her team, even tearing up a bit, to which she was consoled by Diana and the rest of the team, minus Simon, who opted to spend most of his time talking with Shep and Nickole. The budding showmance soon regrouped to discuss the upcoming nominations, as well as other plans regarding the newly-announced twist, initially along with Aubrey, Jeffry, Simon, and even Zig. Shep and Nickole continued to push for Amanda to be the week's target, which seemed to be for the most part unobjected. Simon, believing himself to be veritable turncoat for Team Aubrey's core group within Team Diana, offered himself as someone who could be potentially stolen, stating how he felt that "all of the entertaining people I want to stick around are on this side, honey". Shep and Nickole seemed receptive, but Nickole also wanted to be ambitous, helping propose a plan for the upcoming nominations to be used as a way to gain another person from Team Diana's loyalty along with Simon. Shep seemed infatuated with every idea that came from Nickole, with the model proposing Kelcet as someone to consider, as she seemed more alone in the house and having proving herself ept in the last Rival Team Challenge. Everyone present seemed to agreed, with the group collectively agreeing to a plan for Shep to nominate Amanda and Kelcet, evict Amanda, and try and win Kelcet's loyalty for the future by sparing her, effectively winning over both Simon and Kelcet with one week's worth of gameplay. Shep, Simon, and Nickole all seemed especially proud of this plan, and eventually the group decided they should inform Shanniah of the plan, who was absent from the meeting.
Shanniah, meanwhile, continued to feel alienated and irked, especially by Nickole, due to Nickole's behavior and assertiveness, especially during the Rival Team Challenge. After the meeting of the Team Aubrey group regarding the week's plans had concluded, Jeffry decided it would be best for him to be the one to talk to Shanniah, due to their Survivor alumni alliance and perceived closeness. Upon hearing that Shep and Nickole had intentionally held this meeting without her, Shanniah became even more upset, claiming she was beginning to feel that her team did not appreciate her, and voiced her disdain for Nickole especially. Shanniah did her best to collect herself, telling Jeffry that she valued loyalty and trust, so although she felt hurt and neglected, she would vote in the best interest of her team, stating later in the Diary Room how she felt about the situation, saying "it's hurtful that I am being basically ignored by my teammates. If I wasn't so committed to the example I want to set for my children, I don't know if I'd agree to go along with this. Nickole may be a vile human being, but she is my teammate, and I am going to take the high road with her". Jeffry later proceeded to relay the information about Shanniah being on board for the plan. On Team Diana, Amanda continued to sulk, her failures at the Rival Team Challenge making her feel down, but was further consoled by Diana and John, which Amanda appreciated, stating in the Diary Room how "it's only been a week in this house, and it feels like it's been a month with how I feel, and I feel like I let the team down. I'm grateful that they have been supporting me through this, especially Diana. John too. Even Buster, like...I'm grateful for them". With her more sullen demeanor, Amanda's over-strategizing seemed to ebb, and she began to form more of a relationship with Diana and some of her teammates. However, her reputation still clung to her in the eyes of the Team Aubrey group. Later that week, at the first nomination ceremony of the summer, Shep was revealed to have followed through with the plan laid out by his team, and nominated Amanda and Kelcet for eviction, stating how he felt this was the best move for himself in the game. Amanda teared up slightly again at this news, and Kelcet seemed dissapointed as well as the ceremony was adjourned.
With Amanda and Kelcet nominated, the three-person alliance of Nickole, Shep, and Simon celebrated immensely at the pair's expense, with Nickole complimenting Shep's composure at the nomination ceremony. Simon gabbed about Amanda's reaction, eliciting a slight triumphant chuckle from Nickole in response. Simon decided to propose a name for their group, dubbing the trio the "Trifecta", because they were "the three big smoking winners" in the house, to which Nickole found hysterical. Shep and Nickole agreed to the alliance. Meanwhile, Amanda, at an all-time low, decided to lay low, feeling at an all-time low, fearing that she would have to win the Power of Veto to stay in the house. People continued to chatter as the season's first Power of Veto competition loomed. Soon enough, players were announced to be selected the compete for the first POV of the summer. Shep, as Head of Household, drew a chip first, and drew "Houseguest's Choice". Shep proceeded to choose Nickole to compete. Amanda then drew Shanniah to compete, followed by Kelcet, who drew Aubrey to compete. Jeffry was chosen to host, and a short while later, the houseguests made their way out to the backyard.
Soon after the announcement, host Jeffry begins to explain the competition to the houseguests, revealing it to be named "Falling Under The Spell", which tasked the competing houseguests with traversing the backyard, outfitted to resemble a cartoonish witch's lair, acquiring small ingredient tiles, each containing a letter of the alphabet with a designated point value, and placing them in their own marked cauldron in order to spell a word. The person who manages to correctly the highest-scoring word would win the competition and the first Golden Power of Veto of the summer. With the competition having been explained, the participating houseguests each took their starting positions, and the competition was soon commenced. Shep, Kelcet, and Nickole seemed to do the best in traversing the terrain in procuring letters, whilst Aubrey decided it would be a good idea to throw the competition, doing so without attracting noticeable attention. Shanniah and Amanda both struggled throughout the competition, despite effort from the both of them. By the end of the competition, it was clear that either Shep, Kelcet, or Nickole would most likely win the competition; however, Shep was revealed to have spelled his word incorrectly, leaving Kelcet in the lead with a score of 11 points, hoping to be able to have won the veto to save herself. However, Nickole's word was revealed to have scored 14 points overall, winning herself the competition and prompting a celebratory hug from Shep as the houseguests re-entered the house.
Following the Nickole's veto win, the model regrouped to further celebrate with Shep and Simon, feeling at an all-time high and in control of the game. Nickole cited in the Diary Room how she felt "the Trifecta has all the power this week. In all honesty, this game is pretty easy. I don't know why some people find it difficult. Now that I have the veto, I can carry out my plan, and we can kill two birds with one stone. Shep, Simon, and I are driving this bus. Too bad Amanda wasn't fast enough to get out of the way". The Trifecta continued to re-affirm their apparent dominance in the game, with Simon feeling very much free to gossip with Nickole about houseguests they found to be lackluster or annoying, including Amanda, Buster, and Shanniah. This trio continued to spend an inordinate amount of time with themselves, and even though they occasionally spent time hanging out with Aubrey, much of the rest of the house began to pick up on Shep and especially Nickole and Simon's confidence in their position, most notably Diana and John. Shanniah's distaste for Nickole's behavior only escalated with the model's continually growing feeling of power. Amanda, meanwhile, sulked more than ever before in the house, laying in bed and crying for long periods of time, feeling that her fate was sealed. Later that week, Nickole unsurprisingly opted not to use the Power of Veto, leaving Amanda and Kelcet as the finalized nominees for the week.
With Amanda seemingly poised to go home per the Trifecta alliance's plan, the physics student took a bout of time to lament her short-lived experience on Big Brother, stating in the Diary Room how "I never expected I'd be going out first...I thought I knew this game better than anyone. I've been a fan since the very first season of this show...I love this game, and I wanted to play it more than anything. I guess they aren't lying when they say 'expect the unexpected', huh...", chuckling with a sad, regretful tinge. As Amanda began to isolate herself to an extent, the trio of Shep, Simon, and Nickole spent time grooming Kelcet, as per the plan they and set in motion in order to try and recruit her. Diana, in particular, began to take note of this, and conferred with John about how she felt that "Nickole and her cronies" were planning to run everyone else out the house, and how Simon didn't even seem to talk to her despite Diana being his team captain, to which John agreed. Meanwhile, Shanniah, whom had more often found herself arguing with Nickole over various trivial things throughout the week, continued to feel ostracized, by the faction of Shep, Simon, and especially Nickole. However, Shanniah continued to cite her own moral code, despite feeling sympathy for Amanda, saying in another Diary Room session that "it honestly feels a little bit cruel what Nickole and SImon are doing to Amanda. I mean, yes, Amanda was a bit all over the place, but it's no excuse to bully her. I'd be furious if anyone ever treated one of my children this way, and they should be ashamed. That being said, I did make a promise to myself in how I would act, and I intend to keep it".
With eviction day drawing nearer, the divide in the house seemed to be growing, with Shanniah becoming more and more fed up with Nickole's behavior and Diana becoming even more fed up with the standings of her team in the house. Diana eventually re-conferred with Aubrey to inquire about the vote, to which Aubrey agreed with the house sentiment that Amanda should be the one to go, but purposefully omitting the plan to keep Kelcet in the game. Diana began to suspect that Aubrey was holding information back, and decided to test the waters by asking about the alternative, as Amanda seemed to be harmless. Aubrey deflected, saying that "it's too soon to make a big swing like that", in a way that reminded Diana of how Aubrey and herself seemed to clash in this regard on their previous season. Diana told Aubrey that she agreed, but secretly began to foster a greater suspicion of how the pieces lay in the house. Diana relayed the information to John, and proposing a flip to save Amanda and evict Kelcet in order to secure them a better position, fearing that Aubrey may join the "obvious three" of Nickole, Shep, and Simon, even calling Simon a traitor. John, who had also begun to take note of the seeming confidence of the aforementioned trio, seemed to agree, citing later in the Diary Room how "I do see Diana's point; Shep, Simon, and Nickole have made it abundantly clear that they want Amanda out, and that they seem to be a very tight-knit group. Right now, I do think it might actually be in my best interest for Amanda to stay, because she isn't going after me. Nobody really seems to know where Kelcet stands, and lately, it looks like Nickole is in her ear too. The thing is too that if Diana doesn't get this to work, she's on the hook, not me. This move is definitely something to consider". John thereby agreed to Diana's proposal, and the pair brought the information to Buster, who also agreed, wanting to go along with the Team Captain.
Meanwhile, Diana had decided to approach Jeffry and Shanniah could be the key due to Shanniah's relationship with Nickole. Diana proposed an alliance with the pair, saying she liked both of them and knew they were "good people". John later joined the group and reiterated Diana's idea in a subtle way, with Diana saying that Buster was already on board, and that the five of them along with Amanda could band together to overthrow Shep, Simon, and Nickole. Jeffry and Shanniah both agreed about Diana's observations; however, Shanniah told Diana and John that as much as she wanted to, it would go against what she felt was right, as she had given her word. Jeffry spent some time later asking Shanniah about what she wanted to do in the game, full-well noticing how Team Diana members such as Simon and Kelcet seemed to be more integral to Shep and Nickole, than either himself or Shanniah were. However, Shanniah seemed adamant about what she felt was the right thing to do, despite loathing Nickole and her actions both towards herself and Amanda. Jeffry said he would go along with whatever Shanniah wanted to do, stating in the Diary Room that "isn't it just a tiny bit frustrating when your ally's heart says one thing, but her brain says another? I mean, I know Shanniah sees what is going on here. Nickole's got all of her puppets lined up in a row here. Still, I'm not going to push her too hard in that direction; I saw her season, and I know how she sees things. I don't need her getting annoyed with me to. I just hope she wakes up".
Upon adjourning her latest talk with Jeffry, Shanniah decided to go and dispose of her own forming doubts by re-convening with Shep, Simon, and Nickole. Although Shanniah began trying to explain how she was still solid with the plan of the team, the trio noticeably seemed to talk over Shanniah, with Nickole seeming to come as a bit micro-managing. This annoyed Shanniah greatly, although the librarian refused to voice her annoyance, as she simply tried to assure the group that her vote was still set. However, the conversation continued to rub Shanniah the wrong way, especially as Simon and Nickole voiced their feelings of success at being able to take out Amanda so easily, in an almost gloating way. Shanniah eventually departed the room, and took a deep breath outside of the door. As she turned to leave, however, more loud laughter echoed from inside the room, and Shanniah opted hide from the camera outside the HOH room door and listen in a bit, overhearing a bit more gossip, pertaining to others that Nickole and Simon wanted to see evicted. Simon eventually voiced his disdain for Shanniah's awkwardness and morality. Nickole then agreed, saying that they wouldn't have to carry her that much farther, voicing her dislike of Shanniah to the group, bringing more laughter from Simon and a chuckle from Shep. Shanniah immediately became extremely infuriated with Nickole, and met again with Jeffry to explain everything she had just overheard, to which Jeffry consoled her, as Shanniah cried a bit, feeling more betrayed than ever. Jeffry reiterated their previous conversation, telling Shanniah that he knows for a fact that this was not the first time this had happened, to which Shanniah seemed even more offended at. Shanniah voiced her feelings in the Diary Room, saying that "Nickole may be the most vile person I've ever had the extreme misfortune of meeting. All I've EVER done for her is stick to my word, which I gave her! And I'm not even out the door for FIVE SECONDS and she's talking about how she 'won't have to carry me'. Why am I sticking up for her? In fact, why SHOULD I do it?! She clearly doesn't have my best interest at heart; maybe everyone was right. Maybe I should make them regret taking me for granted". Shanniah then told Jeffry that she was more open to the idea of keeping Amanda, sick and tired of all of the "multiple layers of abuse" from Nickole and Simon, to which Jeffry agreed, telling her that they can still make it happen. Shanniah, soon enough, however, began once again having doubts, feeling this to be a deception and against her morals, whilst Jeffry eventually relayed all of what had just recently transpired to Diana, John, Buster, and Amanda, saying that he thinks that Shanniah may vote with them, but was, as usual, conflicted. Diana and especially Amanda were given a new sense of hope in the plan, with Amanda even seeming to brighten up a bit, although she knew it was very much a longshot for her to stay at this point. With Diana's faction seeming locked in to keep Amanda and the Trifecta alliance still feeling very much confident in evicting Amanda, along with Zig and Aubrey's votes, Shanniah continued to contemplate both of her options, of which she felt extremely torn, up until eviction night, with everything still up in the air.
At the first live eviction ceremony of the summer, Kelcet wished everyone well, saying that she very much enjoyed the experience and hoped she could stay to make even more memories with the rest of the houseguests, whilst Amanda thanked everyone for the experience, making one last attempt at selling herself as a tool to help others in the game if she stayed, to which Nickole and Simon seemed to smirk a bit at. The live eviction voting was then commenced, and each vote was tallied. After the votes had been revealed, it was announced that Kelcet had been evicted by a close vote with 5-4, as Jeffry and Shanniah ultimately decided to save Amanda and vote with the Team Diana Alliance, absolutely stunning the Trifecta and Aubrey, and bringing some excited laughter from Zig, equally shocked as well. Kelcet gave everyone a hug, whilst Nickole, Simon, and Shep's seeming confidence was quickly morphed into confusion and even some spontaneous, albeit subdued anger from Nickole as Kelcet exited the Big Brother House.
Votes for Kelcet: Buster, Diana, Jeffry, John, and Shanniah
Votes for Amanda: Aubrey, Nickole, Simon, and Zig
Following Kelcet's eviction, and amidst no shortage of confusion and even a bit of anger from the Trifecta and the rest of the house, all of the remaining hosueguests, with the exception of Shep, competed in the second Head of Household competition of the season, dubbed "Memory Floss", which featured the houseguests competing to memorize and repeat a pattern of dentistry icons and tools, such as teeth, toothburshes, toothpaste, drills, and dental floss. If a houseguest submitted a sequence differing from the original in any way, they would be eliminated from the competition. The last houseguest standing would win the competition and become HOH for the week. With tensions high, the ten competing houseguests all took their positions, and the competition soon went underway.
With the first round, all ten competitors managed to successfully recite the correct pattern, advancing them to the second round. However, this round proved to trip up Zig, who became the first person eliminated from the competition after selecting one wrong icon. The third round proved even more difficult, claiming Diana, as well as both Jeffry and John, both of whom figured it would be best for them not to win HOH this week, leaving Amanda, Aubrey, Nickole, Shanniah, and Simon still vying for the title of Head of Household. All five people seemed intent on winning the competition for various reasons, with Amanda still feeling a bit insecure after almost being sent home only a few moments prior, and wanting to prove herself to the people who voted for her to stay. Aubrey, Simon, and especially a stone-faced Nickole seemed dedicated to securing safety after being on the wrong side of what they assumed to be a locked-in vote, with the latter pair especially seeming motivated by revenge to an extent as well. Shanniah, meanwhile, wished to make sure that Nickole and Simon wouldn't win in order to keep both herself and her allies safe after their perceived betrayal.
Everyone submitted the correct order once again in the fourth round of competition, but soon enough, Amanda and Simon found themselves eliminated from contention, leaving Aubrey, Nickole, and Shanniah heading into the sixth and seventh rounds, of which all three women answered correctly. The ninth round, the most difficult thus far, involved a total of ten items, which proved to be Aubrey's undoing, leaving tense rivals Nickole and Shanniah competing, with the stakes raised to a new high. Nickole cited later in the Diary Room how "this is do or die for me in this game. The house just flipped on me, and I know I'm in trouble if I don't pull out this win for the Trifecta", whilst Shanniah herself stated in her own later Diary Room session how "it would figure how it's just down to me and the vile girl at the end of this. There's so much at stake; we made a huge move, and it's imperative that I can win to keep myself and Jeffry safe this week. I'm a librarian; memory is a huge part of what I do. I have to win this". The tenth round proved to be extremely challenging, with a total of twelve dental items displayed to be remembered and recreated. Despite a strong effort from both women, hostess Aundre Berubius announced that only one of the two competitors had, in fact, given a correct response. A tense, suspenseful silence washed over the backyard, broken only as Berubius the results. After a few moments, Aundre Berubius announces that Shanniah had given the correct response, thus winning her the competition and making her the new Head of Household, to which Amanda, Diana, and especially Jeffry all cheered in joy, with Jeffry giving her a huge hug, which soon became a group hug with the aforementioned pair and even Buster and John. Nickole, meanwhile, looked annoyed and dissapointed, who was consoled by their new teammate Simon, still showing obvious disdain over the celebrations taking place at the competition result, and a warm, sympathetic hug from Shep. Berubius then asks Aubrey, as captain of the winning team of the last Rival Team Challenge, whom she would like to swap to her team from Diana's, and decides on taking Simon due to the circumstances, as well as talk from the previous week. Simon smiles annoyedly, telling Shep, Nickole, and Aubrey that he was "glad he doesn't have to be a part of 'those crazies' now", referring to the crowd congratulating Shanniah on her competition victory. Nickole and Shep agree, with Nickole especially chuckling at Simon's remark, as the hosueguests all re-entered the Big Brother house.
With Shanniah in power, and a divide in the house seeming to be abundantly clear, the Trifecta had begun to speculate and reflect on the apparent flipping of what they believed to be a locked-in vote with one another, with Nickole and Simon, especially, believing Shanniah to be a prime suspect, with Nickole citing Shanniah's apparent desire to win the Head of Household over one of the other Team Aubrey members. Aubrey seemed to share a similar sentiment; however, the marketing executive and team captain thought it better to distance herself from Nickole and Simon, despite liking them. Aubrey cited in the Diary Room how she felt that "last week, I thought I knew what was going on, but apparently, I was left out of the loop. I've been on the bottom before, but you can never say 'die' in this game. Despite my trepidations, I need to talk to Diana. Even though we have history, she may be my ticket back into the numbers", chuckling sweetly a bit with her last comment. Aubrey decided to reconnect with Diana, bringing up their deal from the prior week to keep each other in the loop. Diana assured Aubrey that their pact was still in effect, although Aubrey brought up her disclusion from the prior eviction. Diana told Aubrey that the vote had flipped too late in the week and that she did not have an opportunity to inform Aubrey that Amanda would be staying in the house instead of Kelcet, which Aubrey seemed to accept, despite still feeling a bit of suspicion on the subject. Diana herself explained her own feelings on the whole matter, stating that "there was no way I could tell Aubrey about the plan last week, because she would've gone right to Shep and Nickole and tried to stop it. I couldn't take that risk, and she doesn't need to know that. Now, that doesn't mean I went back on my word; Aubrey and I are still the only two returning players here". Diana apologized to Aubrey, and the two team captains seemed on the same page.
Soon after, Diana rejoined a larger collective group, congratulating Shanniah on becoming Head of Household, along with John, Buster, Amanda, and a very celebratory Jeffry, who gave Shanniah a huge hug, eliciting further joy and laughter from the entire group present. After a bit of talk, Shanniah informed the group of her intentions to nominate Nickole and Simon for eviction, telling everyone that she wanted to see Nickole evicted this week, wanting to make it a point that she was being up-front and not concealing anything to the group. However, Diana voiced her opinion to Shanniah about how it was important to nominate Nickole and Shep together, due to everyone present viewing the two as a showmance, and thus a tight pair. Shanniah seemed reluctant, believing Shep to be a more deserving person to stay and liking him more than both Nickole and Simon, who she pointed out were also very close. Despite Shanniah seeming to have a set plan, Diana and eventually even Jeffry continued to argue in favor of nominating Nickole and Shep instead of Simon, citing how Shep was a much bigger threat to win competitions and seek retribution. Shanniah internally felt unheard, stating in the Diary Room how "I feel that nominating Nickole and Simon is the right move to make, but the people I'm working with seem to think otherwise. I am, honestly, feeling like I don't have a voice right now, even though it's my Head of Household. I think that Shep has gotten tangled up in that vile girl's web, and I don't think it's necessarily right top punish him for it. That being said, if this is what the group thinks is best, then maybe it is the correct move after all". Shanniah did her best to give her reasoning for her own viewpoint, to which everyone, most notably Diana, assured Shanniah that she understood Shanniah's reservations. Shanniah appreciated everyone's understanding, and said if this was what the group thought to be best, then she we trust their judgement. Diana then reiterated Shanniah's perceived sentiments, and everyone in the group agreed that Nickole was the week's target, as she seemed to be the brains and glue of the Trifecta alliance. Shanniah then additionally told the group that she wanted to make sure that Aubrey knew about the plan, feeling somewhat of a duty due to Aubrey being her team captain, to which Diana assured her that Aubrey was not an issue, despite members of the group secretly feeling opposed to this idea for similar reason to the prior week's omission of Aubrey. However, this opinion went largely unvoiced.
Amanda, excited to be a part of a group, then proposed that the six people present make an alliance, due to claiming that she felt a "great vibe from everyone here" and due to the group having already worked together last week, to which everyone seemed receptive to. As the group debated on names, it was Jeffry who eventually proposed that the six should be called "The Association", joking that it would give the group an edgy and syndicate-sounding name, which caused great enthusiasm from the group, most notably an enthusiastic Amanda and a jovially laughing Diana. With a new alliance having been named and formed, Nickole and Simon continued to suspect foul play from Shanniah and others, whilst Shanniah herself continued to debate between the nomination options of her own preference and the preference of The Association alliance. Later that week, after much deliberation, Shanniah ultimately decided to nominate Nickole and Shep for eviction, per the wishes of her allies, despite her own reservations. Shanniah explained to Nickole that she felt that she couldn't trust Nickole and that she felt that this was what was best for her game, and soon after, the librarian explained to Shep that he was not the target and that he was on the block purely do to his association with Nickole, raising a few eyebrows from her own alliance members. Shep nodded and Nickole couldn't help but smirk with her suspicions confirmed as the pair took their seats on the nomination block and the ceremony was adjourned.
Soon after the nomination ceremony, hostess Aundre Berubius returned to announce that the season's second Rival Team Challenge would commence shortly, and the houseguests divided into their respective teams, making their way to the back yard. The competition, titled "Big Brusher", featured houseguests facing off one-on-one with a competitor from the opposite team, racing to use a giant toothbrush to fully scrub a giant mouth's set of teeth until it is deemed completely clean, and a bell sounds in response, and the houseguest to finish the round would earn a point for their team. The first team to successfully score four points would win the Rival Team Challenge. Aundre Berubius then announces that the prize for winning the competition would be an unprecedented twist, garnering more than a few shocked and various expressions from the gathered houseguests as the competition was soon begun.
The pairings were decided by random draw, and soon enough, the first pair was revealed to be none other than the two team captains themselves, Aubrey and Diana. Although Aubrey kept pace for most of the round, Diana powered through, clearly determined, seeing the deficit their team was currently placed with in numbers by a seven-to-four disadvantage. Despite cheering on from their respective teams, Diana managed to score the first point for her team, and the next pair, featuring John and Jeffry, took their turn competing. Despite a close race, John managed to edge out Jeffry after the latter accidentally dropped his brush near the end, costing him a few seconds, and leaving Team Diana in the lead with a score of two points to zero. Shanniah and Amanda became the next pair to compete. Despite Shanniah being the current Head of Household, the Trifecta-aligned members of her team seemed less than enthusiastic to cheer her on, with Nickole especially doing her best to keep her tongue in cheek, whilst Amanda received passionate support from the other three members of her team, especially Diana. Amanda managed to defeat Shanniah by a considerable margin, and Team Diana all congratulated her, as Shanniah only received some notable consolation from Aubrey, Zig, and most notably Jeffry. With the score currently set at a daunting three to zero, and the competition only requiring four points total to win, the next pair was announced to be Buster and Zig, who each took their positions. Buster later spoke in the Diary Room how "our team is down three people, and you had better believe that I'm going to give my all for it. We absolutely can't afford to lose another person at this stage, nosiree. I may be the oldest here, but they don't call me "Buster" for nothing". Zig, meanwhile, stated in his own Diary Room session how "it figures y'all would make me the guy on point to try and stop us from getting skunked. Man, my luck is just all over the place, you know! Why y'all got to put all of that pressure on me, man!", laughing and smiling. Soon enough, despite a commendable effort from Zig, Buster managed to secure Team Diana the win in a landslide score of four to nothing, and the quartet all celebrated joyously as Zig apologized to his team, who all received him fondly regardless to the outcome. Hostess Aundre Berubius soon congratulated Team Diana for their victory, and asked them to head back into the house and await to each be summoned independently to the Diary Room. Nickole especially, to herself, seemed more frustrated than ever, stating in the Diary Room that "it is pretty crazy that there's four of them and seven of us and we got shut out like that. Props to them I guess, but it's definitely a let down! My life in this house is on the line, and nobody needs an advantage more than me". With the competition concluded, both teams of houseguests returned to the Big Brother house, and Team Diana was soon called in one-by-one to the Diary Room to receive their speculated rewards.
The order was announced to be selected at random, and the first houseguest to step into the Diary Room for their Rival Team Challenge win was revealed to be Buster. The financial executive, still a bit enthused from his team's unlikely challenge victory, Buster was soon instructed by hostess Aundre Berubius' voice to select one of the four envelopes placed on a small table near the Diary Room couch. Berubius then explained that the alluded twist was in fact an assortment of potential advantages or disadvantages held by the envelopes before him, each bearing something unique to be solely received and held by the player who selects the according envelope. After some brief deliberation, Buster decided to pick Envelope #3, which was revealed to contain $2,500 cash, bringing a a smile to Buster's face as he thanked Big Brother before exiting. Diana was selected next, and after being given the same instructions as Buster had been given a few minutes prior, Diana opted to select Envelope #4. Upon opening her envelope, Berubius proceeded to tell Diana that she had become the holder of a brand new Big Brother twist, dubbed the 'Big Brother Double Down". Diana's intrigue increased as Aundre explained the rules of the twist, telling Diana that it could be activated one time only and would expire after the fifth week of the game should it go unused by that time. Upon being activated between the Head of Household competition and initial nomination ceremony, the twist would "double" several things throughout the entire week, save leaving only one Head of Household for the week. Berubius explained how this would mean there would be two Golden Powers of Veto to be won and a total of four nominees vulnerable to eviction at the end of the week. Diana excitedly thanked Berubius and Big Brother, concealing her newfound advantage. Diana later stated in the Diary Room how "they really weren't trying to fool anyone when they said "unprecedented", huh? This is Big Brother history in the making right here. I just have to find the right opportunity to use it to advance my game", holding up her envelope all the while, smiling.
With only two envelopes remaining, John was the next one to enter the Diary Room to make his selection. John deliberated for a decent amount of time before selecting Envelope #2, admitting that he was enthusiastic about seeing what the envelope contained. However, upon opening the envelope, hostess Aundre Berubius announced that John had found the "Slop Letter", with Berubius informing John that he would be forced to only eat slop for the next three weeks. John, although initially seeming a bit jokingly-deflated, said that he would make the best of it, and thanked Big Brother and Berubius, cracking a light joke as he exited the Diary Room. John later elaborated on his reaction and further thoughts about his seeming misfortune, saying that "I know a lot of people would expect me to be mad about this, and admittedly, it's not what I expected I'd be getting, for sure. For me though, I always try and see the positives in situations like this. Being on slop means that people won't see me as a threat to win the competitions, and maybe even get me some sympathy. I can manage three weeks of slop if it means getting to be around for those three weeks", keeping up a calm smile through most of his session. Finally, Amanda was given the affirmative to enter the Diary Room to receive her envelope, and took the final available envelope provided, Envelope #1. Amanda eagerly opened her envelope, rubbing her hands in a jokingly maniacal way before she proceeded to do so. Hostess Aundre Berubius congratulated Amanda on finding the "Safety" envelope, which would allow Amanda to be Immune from nomination for both the rest of this week and the entirety of next week. Amanda excitedly celebrated, busting a handful of dance moves on the couch before thanking Berubius and Big Brother, soon leaving the Diary Room and concluding the Rival Team Challenge festivities for the week.
With the prizes having been distributed in individual secrecy, much of the house remained divided, especially as the looming Power of Veto competition drew near. The Trifecta and Association sides continued to seem fairly solid within one another, whilst Shanniah continued to feel an immense amount of inner conflict regarding Shep's nomination. About a day later, the houseguests were called to the house's living room to select players to compete in the competition, with Head of Household Shanniah and current nominees Nickole and Shep all set to draw a chip from the veto selection bag. Shanniah drew Buster to compete, followed by Shep, who drew Amanda's chip to compete. Nickole secretly wished to draw Simon's chip in order to potentially help their alliance survive the week, which the Association's firmest members very much dreaded the idea. However, Nickole ended up drawing Diana to compete, along with Aubrey being selected to host the competition, and the ceremony was adjourned. Soon after however, Shanniah decided to talk to Shep, asking him to meet with her privately. Shanniah later stated in the Diary Room how "to be honest, I never wanted to personally nominate Shep. He's really been guilty by association with Nickole, and I do have respect for him with the grace he's handled being nominated. If it's in my hands, I'd definitely want to guarantee his safety". Shanniah then explained the Shep that in the event it was possible, she would be willing to let Shep win the Golden Power of Veto, telling the country musician that she liked him and that she never wanted this to happen. Shep, a bit appreciative although surprised, stated to Shanniah that he understands why she had to make the decision, and that he appreciated the offer. Shep, however, later recounted in the Diary Room his feelings on the meeting, saying "so, after the Veto pick, Shanniah pulls me aside and says "I want you to win the Veto" and that she even said she'd throw it me. I mean, I'll take what I can get; I know I need to win this competition to stay in the house. But man, I don't know if I can even trust Shanniah after she nominated me. It feels like she has buyer's remorse now that Nicki an' I are in danger. I guess only time'll tell". Soon enough, the six competitors joined Aubrey in the backyard to learn about their newest upcoming competition.
Aubrey explained that the competition, dubbed "Big Brother Buzz-Off", featured the houseguests, dressed in full-body bee costumes, squaring off one-on-one in pairs on a beehive-themed podium, each racing to ring in with an answer of "true" or "false" in response to a question regarding an arrangement of bee-themed icons on a visual display. The first houseguest to successfully buzz in with a correct answer would advance, selecting two other competing houseguests to square off in the next round. However, if a houseguest answers incorrectly, they themselves will be eliminated from the competition, and their opponent will advance a select the next pair. The last houseguest standing would win the competition and the Golden Power of Veto. The houseguests soon took their positions and the competition was underway.
By random draw, the first pair of the competition's opponents was announced to be that of Buster and Shep, and the soon after they and taken their places, the first round took place, which was won by Shep by a decent margin. Shep then selected Diana and Amanda to compete, of which Diana managed to edge out Amanda to advance as well. Diana decided to choose Nickole and Shep to compete, surprising neither themselves nor much of the rest of the house, due to their nomination alongside one another. Shep managed to once again advance, defeating Nickole, giving her a hug as she returned to the bench, visibly annoyed by the circumstances. Shanniah and Diana were then selected to compete by default. Shanniah managed to beat out Diana despite fast reactions from both of the pair, leaving Shanniah and Shep as the two final competitors. Diana, along with several of her own allies, secretly rooted for Shanniah to win and be able to keep the nominations set. However, Shanniah appeared to visibly struggle in the final round, allowing for Shep to ring in first. Shep was announced to be correct, and managed to win the competition and the Golden Power of Veto. Shep celebrated, with Nickole and Simon both reasonably happy for him, whilst Diana and Aubrey especially felt that something was a bit fishy.
Following the competition, during a moment of privacy between Shep and Shanniah, the former thanked Shanniah for keeping her word, to which Shanniah reciprocated, saying he should save himself instead of Nickole. Meanwhile, however, Aubrey continued to feel as if something was amiss during the competition, to which she further elaborated in the Diary Room how "you know, I was hosting that bee comp, and I had a fairly good view of that beehive thing where they were answering those questions, and I couldn't help but wonder what Shanniah was thinking in that last round. Like, she was able to beat freaking 'Di, but then all of a sudden, she just can't seem to get anything going against Shep? No. I think she threw it, and I wonder if anyone else thinks so too. This could make me or break me in this game". Aubrey later approached Diana once again, and the pair compared notes, feeling skeptical of Shanniah's performance. Diana herself questioned why Shanniah tried so hard to win the competition and then seemingly falter at the end. Aubrey proposed the idea that Shanniah may have thrown the competition, to which Diana said seemed to make sense, especially given that Shanniah had voiced that she didn't want to nominate Shep earlier this week. Diana, in turn, relayed Aubrey's information to John, Amanda, and Buster throughout the week, and Diana stated in her own Diary Room session that "Shanniah may not be as on board for our team as I thought she was. Aubrey came up and told me that she thought Shanniah threw the comp, and you know what? I was wondering about that myself. I just don't know if we can trust her right now". Meanwhile, Shep debated his own position in the game, and how he himself wanted to use the Power of Veto, discussing with Nickole what the best move for them would be. Nickole told Shep that she knew she was the target and that she felt that Shep had more of a chance to stay, and Shep pondered his options, going back and forth between Shanniah and Nickole's pitches. Later that week, at the Veto ceremony, Shep ultimately decided to use the Power of Veto to save himself from the block, giving Nickole an apologetic kiss as he did so. Shanniah then decided to name Simon as the replacement nominee, citing how she felt she didn't know where their relationship stood in the game. Simon smirked a bit sassily as he took his seat next to Nickole, leaving Nickole and Simon as the finalized nominees for the week.
With Nickole and Simon both in danger, and despite growing distrust within the Association to Shanniah's reliability in the game, the alliance seemed to unanimously agree that Nickole should be the one evicted, as she seemed to be the glue and apparent brains behind the Trifecta alliance. Meanwhile, both Shep and Nickole herself campaigned for Nickole to stay in the house, whilst Simon continued being social, although nonetheless continuing to be his usual outspoken self. Nickole especially continued to campaign, although she found herself met with considerable skepticism by almost everyone as eviction night loomed.
At the live eviction ceremony, Simon wished everyone well, saying he was "dang sorry it had to be either this queen here or me", referring to Nickole, and receiving a few chuckles. Nickole, however, thanked everyone for the experience, but proceeded to make one final pitch, calling Shanniah out for her "erratically petty" gameplay and offering herself to be used as a weapon to go after "that vile girl", causing the latter to draw even more ire at being referred to as such, although Simon couldn't help but crack up at Nickole, giving her a high-five, and making Shanniah ever more annoyed. The live voting was then commenced, and soon enough, it was revealed that Nickole had become the second houseguest evicted from the Big Brother: Rivals and Redemption 2 house by a vote of seven to one, with only Shep voting to keep Nickole in the house. Nickole smiled, and proceeded to give hugs to Simon, Aubrey, Zig, and an especially long one to Shep, alongside yet another short kiss. Nickole also said goodbyes to the rest of the house, with the notable exception of Shanniah, and the model soon exited the house to a mixed reception.
Votes for Nickole: Amanda, Aubrey, Buster, Diana, Jeffry, John, and Zig
Votes for Simon: Shep
Following Nickole's eviction, all of the eligible houseguests competed in the "Rivals and Read-emption" Head of Household competition, which featured the competing houseguests traversing a constructed obstacle course, made up of giant faux books, bookshelves, and various library paraphernalia to reach ten designated stations. At each station, the houseguests would then be tasked with solving a riddle pertaining to events that had transpired throughout the first twenty-days of the season. Each answer would correspond to one of the provided solutions, with each station having four options, only one being correct, and each solution is designated with a corresponding number. The first houseguest to provide all ten correct numbers, forming a passcode to be repeated at the finishing station, would win the competition. With the rules having been explained, the competition soon begun. Immediately it became clear that Diana, Amanda, Zig, and Aubrey were pulling ahead of the competition, with the latter seeming to continually push one question ahead of the pack. Jeffry, Simon, Shep, and Buster visibly struggled, with John opting to stealthily throw the competition. Despite attempts from the other houseguests to catch up to her, it was clear that Aubrey was very much in the lead throughout the competition, and eventually rung in with the correct pass-code of numbers, winning herself the competition and the title of HOH for the week. Aubrey celebrated mildly and coyly with the rest of the house as the congratulated her on her win. Hostess Aundre Berubius extended her own congratulations to Aubrey, and soon asked Diana to select a member of Team Aubrey to join Team Diana. Diana ultimately chooses Shep to join her team, and his new teammates greeted him as the houseguests all re-entered the house.
With Aubrey now having secured power for the week, all of the members of Team Aubrey congratulated their team captain on having won the competition, and several members, especially Zig and a somewhat relieved Shep seemed to be put somewhat at ease, with Zig later saying in the Diary Room that "man, I'll tell you what, it's been a bit rocky these last two weeks! From bein' left out of that first vote to all this lovey-dovey stuff... man, don't it just feel great to have someone I trust in this game have the power for once". Shep later reaffirmed a similar sentiment in his own Diary Room session. stating that "after Nicki left, I was pretty sure I was in trouble this week, but I'm honestly pretty happy that Aubrey won HOH this week, because I don't think she wants me out like a lot of these other people do. Here's hopin'."
