Twists

  • Cast Process : The entire cast of this season has been made decided through a fan vote. Please see my blog to view the results of this poll.
  • The Intruders : During the first four weeks of the game, four intruders will live in the Secret Space-Shack, a secret room nearby the Main House. They will have the duty to unanimously decide a third nominee (as well as replacement nominee should their first choice be saved by the POV). Each week, they will also have to vote each other out until there are two intruders remaining who will then compete in a special challenge. The winner will be granted his key to enter the main house as well as a Week of Immunity, during the fourth week of competition. The existence of the Intruders will only be revealed when one of them enter the house (in other words, the main house will never know who chose the third nominee).
  • The Wiki's Vengeance: At some point into the game, you will be able to vote to name one of the previous evictee as the special HOH during the Sweet Revenge Week. This evicted housemate will become HOH for the Week. They will go back to the house and live among the remaining houseguests just as if they had not left the game. At the end of the week, the HOH and the evictee will exit the house together. (Week 9)
  • No Have/Have-Nots: self-explanatory.

Weekly Summary

The Host of The Spying Machine launches a whole new season of the Big Brother franchise. The show is introduced by a video clip with some of the best moments of the three former seasons, including the formation of The Speakeasy alliance, the feud between Perri and Justine and also the crowning of Caroline, the winner of the Big Brother 3 (Matpeng). She then does a brief tour of the new Big Brother House which has been decorated as a Spaceship, with very modern furnishing and astounding views of distant galaxies. She tells the audience that this season will be the most twisted yet and that the new housemates are not prepared for what will come their way.

She then introduces 16 brand new housemates, including Big Brother superfan and columnist Scarlet, car salesman Vince, University lecturer Stanley and activist Erinn. The latter entered the house shouting "OH MY GOOOOOOOD" with her very high-pitched voice. She was immediately noticed by sassy pro wrestler Rita and bartender Martin who commented together about their fellow housemates being completely crazy. Among the new contestants also Alex, a young Midwest cashier, Annick, a broke artist living in a trailer, Pat, a postman and Victoria, a Youtube personality from Florida.

The whole bunch of new houseguests are seen running around the house like chickens, shouting, giggling and making crazy stuff, to the point where Marina, an entrepreneur from Arizona asks hereself in the Diary Room "where the hell did I land ? I don't what planet these folks are from but they are surely the maddest bunch of people I have ever met...". Then, the 16 contestants all sit down in the living area, to do the traditional introduction round. Erinn starts off, describing herself as "an activist with beautiful values as well as a single woman, ready to mingle". Pat reacted to this statement by saying she was definitely his type of girl. Then, a young black man with a lot of tattoos and piercings takes the floor. His name is Jordy and he just want to enjoy his summer. He is followed by a young and beautiful women introduces herself as Teagan a model who has travelled the entire world. She is applauded by most of her fellow housemates, except Jan, a shy girl who is shown sipping her champagne and sitting at the back of the couch, almost as if she was avoiding the whole loud crowd. Eventually, TJ introduces himself as a philosophy student and wannabe politician. Rita seems quite impressed and declared in the DR that he was probably one of the most interesting and intriguing people in the room. She stated that she better have him on her team than on the opposite one. Then, the show cuts to a break.

When Big Brother returns after the break, the Host launches the first Big Twist of the summer. She asks the audience to look at the screen behind her and four other contestants are introduced. They are Delilah, a "Life Coach from California, Lewis, a self-described "Professional Rebel", Pierce, a retired baseball player with a trouble past and Audrey, a gorgeous saleswoman with a thick southern accent. As they stand on the stage, the Host announces to them that they are part of the Intruders' twist. She explains that during the first four weeks of the game, the intruders will live in the Secret Space-Shack, a secret room hidden underneath the Main House. They will spy on their fellow contestants and will have the duty to unanimously decide a third nominee (as well as the replacement nominee should their first choice be savTheyv ed by the POV). This third nominee could be eliminated just like the HOH's nominees. The audience reacts with cheers to this new twist. The Host continues by explaining that each week, they will also have to vote each other out until there are only two intruders remaining who will then compete in a special challenge. The winner will be granted his key to enter the main house as well as a Week of Immunity, during the fourth week of competition. The existence of the Intruders will only be revealed when one of them enter the house (in other words, the main house will never know who chose the third nominee). Audrey is the first one to react to the new twist. She seems ecstatic to be part of the new game dynamic. Delilah, on the other hand seems a bit more pessimistic as she underlines the fact that only one of the four intruders will eventually enter the Main House. Then, the Host opens up the Secret Space-Shack which is a bit bigger than a simple room (it has two bedroom linked by a common bathroom, a rather big living area with a kitchen, a dining place and a living room with at least forty screens linked to different cameras in the Main House. The Intruders enter their abode and open their own bottle of champagne while watching the other sixteen houseguests getting prepared for the HOH Competition.

They will not be able to see the competitions but obviously, they will know about the results in the aftermath of each competition. The camera in the Diary Room was really the one that interested them the most.

The first HOH Competition is entitled "Let's Go Ballin'" and it requires endurance and balance from the houseguests. They are dressed as spacemen. They all have to stand on a big ball designed as a planet, while they hold a bar above their head. The balls will be rolling slowly, and then accelerate. The last houseguest standing would obviously become the first Head of Household of the summer. After only a few minutes, it is already a massacre : Erinn, Marina and Stanley did not stand more than five minutes whereas Jordy, Victoria, Annick and TJ fell right behind. They are soon to be followed by Scarlet and Alex. Half an hour after the beginning of the challenge, Big Brother blows a lot of wind and dust on the remaining houseguests, to simulate comets. They all struggle but eventually, only Pat and Teagan drop. With five houseguests remaining, Vince tried to strike deal with his fellow housemates, however Rita and Martin looked reluctant and refused it. The young car salesman failed to hold on any longer. The next to fall is Martin after he slipped on his dusty planet. With only three remaining competitors looking strong, Nick, a tall photographer from Albany also tried his chance. Jade immediately said she would accept whereas Rita was still afraid of throwing it. She seemed to agree to Nick's terms but as soon as Jade jumped, the wrestler tried to renegotiate the deal and asked her opponent about a "shared HOH". The deal is the following: she would nominate one nominee while he nominated the other one. Desperate to win the competition, Nick accepted, and that's when Rita accepted. Erinn proclaimed the Winner of the competition while the two "finalists" hugged. In the Diary Room, Jade complained and moaned about Rita's behavior while Stanley reckoned that she was of the most obvious and immediate threats to anyone's game. After that, the houseguests are seen exiting the Competition Arena and enter back the house. It then cuts to another break.

After this tense first HOH Challenge, the four intruders payed close attention to the reaction of their fellow contestants. They did not manage to understand perfectly the entire proceedings of the Competition but a few remarks interested them. They concluded rapidly that Rita was not to be trusted, that Vince and Martin were definitely playing hard and that both Nick and Jade were unexpected physical threats.

Meanwhile, the aftermath of the Competition was really intense in the main house. Gathered in one of the bedrooms, Jade, Scarlet and Erinn were discussing Rita's strange gameplay during the competition. Jade mainly felt that she had been played and that the wrestler was her main competition in the house. She noticed that there would be an immediate rivalry between the two of them as they come from very different backgrounds, with different values, and intend to play a dramatically different game. There was no proper discussion about alliances between the three of them, however, Scarlet declared in the DR that she was laying the groundwork of her plan by building trust with the girls. This was later confirmed by b-roll showing her having fun with various group of girls, also including Annick and Victoria.

Nick then shouted "who wants to see my HOH room and the sixteen housemates all ran towards the all-new special room, decorated as the Space-ship dashboard and office. Everybody seemed ecstatic to see pictures of the giant photographer as a kid. He read his letter as his fellow housemates made "Ooooohhh"s and "Aaaaah"s. This moment was cut as the room emptied slowly. A few hours later, the camera showed a secret meeting in the HOH room, between Nick and Rita. They shared their opinions on each and everyone of their fellow housemates using chess pieces. It soon became clear that they were more afraid of several female housemates, including Jade, Scarlet and Erinn. They describe the latter as a "little queen with a huge charisma" and they feared that the young activist was already too much of a social threat. At some point, they were interrupted by Stanley and Marina. The conversation was a bit awkward at first, and that's why the University Lecturer tried to break the ice by asking them "you both were talking strategy weren't you ?". This blunt question raised a few eyebrows. He explained himself by pleading his case and stating that he was really willing to work with both of them. Marina confirmed that she also wanted to work with them, but her choice of words was more subtle. They then left the room, letting the duo think about it. Nick and Rita weighed the pros and cons about this early alliance but obviously, they were both interested. Later, they reunited with Stanley and Marina, as well as Teagan who had bonded with Rita. The Power duo explained their plan for the week, which was to oust Erinn who they feared was gaining more and more power as the days went by. They all agreed on that plan and created the first important alliance of the summer. They nicknamed themselves Bony Players because they said that the other housemates were like small bony puppet they could do whatever they wanted with. The intruders saw the entire alliance forming and they really mocked thei nickname they found stupid. Then, they unanimously decided to target Rita, not because they wanted to eliminate her but because they hoped to throw a wrench into her alliance's plan, and just to disrupt the dynamics in the house.

During the nomination ceremony, Nick announced that, as HOH, he had chosen Erinn and Victoria to be the first nominees of the season as he was absolutely scared to death that they could develop a better social game than him. Erinn cried, stating in the DR that she was an easy and obvious target for the HOH as she had almost no shot at winning any competition whatsoever with her tiny size.
As Nick declared the end of the ceremony, a bright and loud alarm rang. All the housemates gathered around the TV screen where it was written in red that "THE SPACESHIP HAS BEEN HIJACKED". The entire house wondered what it meant before saying the following message "The third nominee is... RITA !!" The wrestler, puzzled, kept staring at the screen wondering wether it was a joke or not. The entire house seemed shook as the Host appeared on the screen to explain them that as the Spaceship was hijacked, each week, there would be a third nominee, chosen independently from the HOH's decision. She obviously did not explain anything about the Intruders yet, but she confirmed that Rita was also nominated.
